"Ride with _____!" online!

Ride with_____! can now be found online right here on tumblr - check it out and tell me what you think. Whoever rides a bike can, and should be a part of this fascinating database of awesome people. Join and let the world know your riding story in one image and a few well chosen words.

For now you're going to get one update a week - stay tuned! Follow the stories on http://ridewith.tumblr.com - now, who wants a t-shirt?

FYI, The Hangover part II has a lot of nudity, harsh language, drug dealing monkeys and one bald Galifianakis. If you liked the first one, you'll definitely laugh along with this one as well. Unfortunately, this post is not about a movie. I'll let Mike "The Movie Guy" Pierce cover that part.

Adios! In-joy! Still haven't got my luggage from the airport...

Helsinki-Vantaa airport strike 2011

A random encounter with a friendly face in Copenhagen and a two hour flight later, the Norwegian flight DY 3160 officially landed to Finland. Only after 30 minutes of waiting in the plane does my teared Nike's hit Finnish soil.

Hardly anything is as annoying as an uninformed strike, especially on an airport. Especially in Finland. We, spoiled Northern Europeans take it for granted that our airports work, whereas it's just another Wednesday if Paris Charles de Gaulle stands still. The air is quickly filled up with Finnish swear words, as well as Danish, German, Chinese and Swedish equivalencies. After an hour and a half of waiting for my luggage I decided to forfeit and accept my loss.

I wasn't the only one who walked out without luggage. Some people decided to keep waiting, although they had been there for three hours. The airport is in chaos and nobody knows when the activities are normalized. Hopefully within a few days, because I'm out of clothes.

Life's about in-joying.

On the road again!

Driving 760km alone is rather boring. Try and you'll know. Anyway, I'm in Sweden for a couple of weeks again. After visiting my Swedish girls in Linköping I headed to Malmö airport to watch a Jumbo jet land with a few very intriguing airplane observers. Now I'm driving around. Tomorrow I should take a swim in the sea. Anyway, in-joy the visual material:

A fork lift on Viking Line Gabriella - HIFK is the Helsinki hockey team, as well as the Finnish hockey champions

 Rainy Stockholm

 Cloudy Linköping

A 90° turn and a narrow road - calls for rally maneuvers!

 Clouds playing around the airport

Boeing 747-400 landing to Malmö - Every Sunday between 17:30 and 17:45

 Antti the male model

Airplane observers! The most intriguing pair of people: "Hey come along to this field, a jumbo jet is about to land!"

Finland is the World Champion of Hockey!

As many of you might know, Finland won the hockey world championship yesterday by beating Sweden 6-1 in the final. The country, and especially Helsinki went nuts. Even firetrucks had Finnish flags on them driving around the market square with their sirens on. What about the cops? Partying as well.

Last time this rare epicness happened was 16 years ago in 1995. Last time I was too young to understand what was going on or interest myself in hockey for that matter. Now when I'm older I didn't have the chance to witness this incredible moment in Finnish hockey history on site. No. I enjoyed the game in Sweden of all the countries. This victory being as frequent as a total solar eclipse, you can imagine it sucks not being able to participate in this national joy in Finland. Nonetheless, this day was awesome.

The game was yesterday, but the real ceremony with the team happened today in Helsinki. I had the privilege of following the winning ceremony at the Helsinki South Harbor from a webcam with an insane update rate of one frame per minute. Here, let me show you the difference between 17.40 - an hour before the team was set to arrive - and 19.05 - when the party was fully on. In-joy! Hopefully you got a bit of the joy.

Chrome Kremlin: The Best messenger bag!

This is why:

 Looks empty, doesn't it?

Well, it's not! Not only is this an awesome bag, but as you can see, I'm having a gourmet dinner tomorrow

In this picture the bag has still all the tools needed for fixing a bike and some textbooks. This bag takes 48 cans of beers without a budge and it's incredibly comfortable on your back even with that load.

Sad part is that you can't get these new anymore, but fear not Chrome has a new version of their big bag. It's called the Metropolis. Go buy it. Now! As you can see they've got a metric crap load of everything else bike related as well. All I know that the bags really take a beating and they're cool and comfortable.

In-joy!

A Fancy Bike: Pyrkijä Junior 26"

The coolest pants and the coolest bike - Janna's Pyrkijä Junior with 26" wheels - an Instant Classic

A three week old promise was fulfilled today: to magically heal this beauty's flat tire and put it back on the streets where it belongs.

Turned out that the tires were from the Darwin era. Unfortunately evolution only works in living beings, therefore even magic was out of the question. Fortunately these new black and white Schwalbes looks better than the old gray Nokias.

Be sure to wave to Janna when you see this pearl on the streets! In-joy and keep it real!
