I was only the photographer.

Hello? Hello.

Regina Spektor keeps telling me that she keeps hearing "all of these voices" in her mind. Now how the fuck am I able to write down anything listening to that? Excuse the foul language, but I'm just producing.

This is what I experienced last week. Hands-on homemade ...ehm regrets?
I was only the photographer. Over n out.

I_Just_Deleted_My_Recycle_Bin

*fast forwarding* okay, two girls standing in the end of a hall chanting "come play with us", a frightened boy, the girls all of a sudden murdered violently, blood everywhere, nope it's gone again, the frightened boy is still frightened, closing his eyes, opening them, neither girls nor murdered girls, now he's talking to his index finger. *fast forwarding* SCREAMING *fast forwarding* knives, blood and a crazy looking Jack Nicholson. *Stop* The Shining.. 2 hours 23 minutes of irreversible "horror". Sure, let me throw this into the bin and delete it for good.

There, Delete! ..wait, where's the recycle bin?

Luckily I'm not the only jackass. As a matter of fact, there are plenty of us! As you can see when typing "I just del" in Google the first suggestion is already exactly what I'm looking for.

I just del...

Do I recognize myself or what?
"The problem of course is that we're so used to these popup confirmations that we often fail to notice or read them. I know I frequently mutter to myself "yeah, yeah, whatever" and press enter or click Yes without paying attention.
Whoops. The Recycle Bin disappeared."

PERFECT. In-joy boys and girls.

Violent begging prohibited

Apparently you’re soon not allowed to beg violently on the streets of Finland. What a relief to be able to walk on the streets of Helsinki knowing that the next time somebody asks for 1€ while pushing a blade on my throat, I’m acting legally correct by refusing to cooperate. He will then back off mumbling about “that retarded new law proposition keeps me from earning my bread”.

Right?

The American Dream?

I got this email from USAFIS the other day about why the U.S. is the best country to live in.
"Here are some of the advantages that the USA has to offer:
  1. Best education system in the world.
  2. World's strongest and fastest growing economy.
  3. World's most advanced constitutional rights."
I sure had some prominent problems in covering my joy and surprise. If this organization claims these facts, they have to be true, right?

Let's get the facts straight anyway. According to recent study, and not to stand out as someone who absolutely adores his home country (which usually is the deal when a Finn claims that something Finnish is among the best in the world) the best education system is actually found in Finland.

Regarding the economy, USA might have the biggest version of it, but that doesn't make it at all the strongest or fastest growing. Have you followed the news at all lately? Big countries like China and India are surely growing faster than the US, but according to Economy Watch Qatar is the fastest growing economy and Africa will be the continent of growth between 2012-2020.

Then let's have a look at the "world's most advanced constitutional rights". As you might know I stayed in LA this summer and I had to document the country where you can live "the American Dream". Restrictions? You bet.

Life made easy, no space for independent thinking or adapting. Nice! In-joy!

Pursuit of happiness

There's nothing but air in front of him, nothing except a chilly breeze on his face while he pedal towards something called freedom. The warm, solid street under a pair of rapidly spinning wheels does not even budge while nearly flying forward between cars, trucks other cyclists, towards red lights and drafting after buses.

The remarkable feeling of being a reckless being, only jeopardizing ones own health while simultaneously remaining relaxed and having everything under control, constantly living 3 seconds in the future, traffic wise is a place where even an emotional wreck can withdraw his thoughts from everything and live fully in that exact moment.

A combination of a demon on the streets flying towards his destination with hypnotizing music playing in his ears makes a dangerous recipe. Little does he know of the truck behind the next corner, behind the next red light that he is about to neglect. The intersection is coming in front of him and he does nothing but accelerates, speeds up and lives in that 3 seconds ahead of time. Only this time he really needed 4 seconds.

All those rides, all those moments, every memory and all the loved ones was everything he could think of this morning. Now all he can see is something green and hear muffled screaming and yelling somewhere in the distance. It doesn't take long until everything turns black and mute.

All he wanted was to feel free.

Mindfuck nostalgia sickness indicates of France

At this time of the year with cold weather and wet feet I managed to get sick today. A fever arose from nowhere and Fred had to call it a half day at the office. Straight to bed. Dinner. Back to bed. In retrospect it's not weird at all that after sleeping for about 8 hours during the day it's hard to get a hold of any dreams or sleep in general.

I ended up falling asleep for a while, only to wake up into a pond of sweat having been mindfucked by this fever and been hit by a car in my dreams on my old school yard. Whilst not being a big fan of realistic car accidents on a school yard in my dreams, I still wanted to feel nostalgic about something, so I dug up some photos. For all of you. In-joy some pretty views from France. Annecy, Lyon, Lyon, Lyon, Vienne.

Let 2011 be prosperous

Let me take a moment to reflect on what has happened in my life during the year for all of you that haven't been updated on my status and where I've been situated along the road. Apparently there are a whole lot of you!

I spent a month at the Alps
I went to business school in Lyon, France
I fell in love
I traveled a whole lot around France
I spent my summer in Los Angeles, California
I was offered and granted a job in Stockholm, Sweden
I traveled some more in Europe (Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Poland)
I met a lot of new people
I still remember all of you "old ones" too
I have experienced a whole lot this year
I don't know if I've changed along the way
Whether it's been good or bad things, I've always learned something useful
I've had an eventful 2010
Let's see how 2011 unveils.

The year was ended with fun and games on Högsåra at Farmors Café and Villa Cecilia battled by the core group of us summer beasts. In-joy the pictures. Happy New Year!
