06 July 2010

The 4th of July weekend hurled away in San Diego by spectating fabulous fireworks, numerous ODs and remorseless teenage fights. Furthermore, it was absolutely fantastic. Not because of the ODs and fights of random stupid people, no way, you can see that R-rated crap on TV.

A weekend with Emily's family did this weekend remarkable. The real deal is first a wake board session with Uncle Neil, Adam, Michelle and their singing/howling tiny puppy Lux and our troops in San Diego Bay with a rented boat which ended with the most delicious dinner at a local restaurant and a fireworks session of about an hour on Saturday.

Later on we stationed ourselves in Neil's house - designed by himself - where we would sleep for the weekend. What a house! The view in the picture is taken from his balcony. To make a little cultural difference notation of traffic planning; in Europe the engineers prefer serpentine roads. Over here apparently it's okay as long as there's a road ..with an angle of 30 degrees. This is another reason why people prefer big engines in their cars I suppose. Well, anyway, back to the 'real deal'

Sunday morning, 4th of July we went to Delicatessen to have some Jewish breakfast and oh man oh man oh man. I rolled away from there, stuffed like an elephant after having swallowed a house...to a BBQ wishing I didn't all that much.

Great people (adding to the list: Tim, Sidney, Ben and Alex along with their dog Rusty), delicious food and a big pool made this BBQ an unforgettable one.  I pushed myself into throwing all kinds of flips into the pool, mainly landing on my face, apparently there's a need of a higher kick-off than ½ meter. Later on we went to a park with a mobile amusement park where we not only listened to Neil's concert but also had some fun in the various rides that definitely flipped you around everywhere. Without face plants. That night ended up in a hot jacuzzi and a cup of hot tea.

Thank you for this weekend, now I'm off to have some chicken breast. Tomorrow I'll break some bones. In-joy!
